halt mich

nehm meine träume für bare münze
schwelge in phantasien
hab mich in dir gefangen
weiß nicht wie mir geschieht
wärm mich an deiner stimme
leg mich zur ruhe in deinen arm
halt mich, nur ein bißchen
bis ich schlafen kann

fühl mich bei dir geborgen
setz mein herz auf dich
will jeden moment genießen
dauer ewiglich
bei dir ist gut anlehnen
glück im überfluß
dir willenlos ergeben
find ich bei dir trost

bin vor freude außer mir
will langsam mit dir untergehn
kopflos, sorglos, schwerelos in dir verliern
deck mich zu mit zärtlichkeiten
nimm im sturm, die nacht ist kurz
friedvoll, liebestoll, überwältigt von dir
schön daß es dich gibt

komm erzähl mir was
plauder auf mich ein
ich will mich an dir satthörn
immer mit dir sein
betanke mich mit leben
laß mich in deinem arm
halt mich, nur ein bißchen
bis ich schlafen kann
halt mich, daß ich schlafen kann

MY GOOD DEED

I tried to save a girl I truly loved
And didn't quite know how to help her
So now she's sleeping as her parents up above
Cry over things that they can't tell her

And when I did my good deed
I thought I'd feel unbroken gladness
But standing in the street alone
I just felt sinking sadness

Girl, your dad will not us bless
So hang up your veil and dress
Look at me and take one guess
Where this best-intentioned love will lead us

I once felt a feeling fully through
Though I knew I shouldn't feel it
Because to act on it I'd be a person
Who should be slapped into a straitjacket

So every time it comes around
I just let it die inside me
You said, "I only come around
Because I just need you to hide me"

So we knelt in those dead weeds
Sticks and sharp rocks cutting into our knees
And I thought that we would freeze
But there was just too much warm blood in our bodies

I'm not going to make you take the pills
Though you should really think about it
The fire by which we both were almost killed
Glowed so beautiful, don't doubt it

But we have to make a choice now
Can we glow without it?
There's a space I tried to fill
But I'm seeing now I never will
You fly around while I stand still
Until I slowly just get smaller and smaller

I tried to save a girl I truly loved
And I never would desert her
But we both found out that I was dreaming
Of the day I thoroughly could hurt her

And I saw myself inside her eyes
This shrinking would-be savior
Resented her for never needing help
And couldn't wait just to betray her

So we drove back to her place
From the temporary home that we had made
And I stepped back into the street
Feeling the fullest moment of my life
Slowly shrink away from me
With my good deed

home, sweet home

"moin moin" - that's what we say over here.

We finally made it, after an alright 14 hour ride I'm happy to announce that we're back home where we belong. We got here at 6 in the morning, I now slept until noon and my family's coming over at 6. One and a half hours for me to watch the rain or so. Most of my friends are still on vacation, I got like 2 weeks to myself, visiting the fam or to go shopping, I don't know. Can't wait for my Lloret de Mar/underwater/Sweden/Finland pictures to develop, epic times will follow. euuhh it's weird being here, it really is. the rain will stop, eventually.

Stockholm/Finnhamn/Helsinki

Adrian Lux - Teenage Crime

Oliver Koletzki & Fran - Echoes

I went on a trip to Stockholm, Helsinki and a little isle called Finnhamn just one week ago. I had a great time though Finnhamn was more of a survival training haha. On our first night in Stockholm we celebrated a friends 18th and we saw the brightest falling star you can't imagine. I mean it, you can't. It was incredible. Over there, in summer, it doesn't get dark at night. Maybe a little dim around 2 in the morning but that's it. And then it already gets all bright again. You hear them birds singing 24/7.

The week went by so fast, as a precious dream, you open your eyes and yet it's gone.

I want to go back, I want to live it all over again, and I need to get back to Stockholm! I fell in love with that place.

Oliver Koletzki and Adrian Lux are two artists I put on my travelling tracklist. In the video to "Teenage Crime" you see an itsy-bitsy tiny bit of Sweden, for more you gotta go there!

So yesterday was the first day of my very last summer break everr!

Lake Parade was on the agenda, it was quite alright. You never get to see such freaky people in snobby Geneva at any other time of the year. Everybody got dressed up, they had moving vans, loud music, different stages and loads of alcohol. Must say I have never seen as many injured people as at this year's. Sad story.

Overall everybody surely had their fun though! It was a muggy day and lightning guided me on my way home, the song above wished me a blessed night. Enjoy

Marissa Nadler - Thinking of You

This video is perfect for the song. It made me cry, it's beautiful.
You'll watch it and listen to your own story instead of the words Marissa is singing, they're really just secondary. It's the instrumental and the video that'll get you, promise.
I Blame Coco - Self Machine

Zaz - Je Veux

Ellie Goulding - Starry Eyed

More Zeit Online videos, because I like certain artists acoustics a lot better than the original radio version.

The xx - VCR

more of the xx, just because I can.
Lykke Li - Follow Rivers (Zeit Online Version)

I'm deeply in love with Lykke Li, pretty much everything about her. I don't know, she's amazing. This is a new version of her single "Follow Rivers" taken from Zeit Online. I prefer her live, but you should also check out her video to "Sadness is a Blessing", directed by Tarik Saleh.

just fell in love

In Golden Tears - Unique

In Golden Tears - Shelter

In Golden Tears - Thieves

In Golden Tears - Urban Emotions

If I am not supposed to stay
Then you’re not supposed to go away
Future’s here but I don’t mind
Days and nights you’ve left behind

Beautiful landscape and so are you
Urban emotions led me to you
Tulips in the morning dew
Feel the rain on my skin

We are rising but colliding
In the haste of the day
Red skies fluent hypnotizing
Till I reach the point of no return

Contraries longing for each other
Behaviours not only another lover
Help me to find you
I can’t find myself
Looking in the mirror

We are rising but colliding
In the haste of the day
Red skies fluent hypnotizing
Till I reach the point of no return

I am so very proud to announce that they're from my hometown Hamburg, Germany and that I'll see them live this summer at Dockville Festival. Lovely video, wonderful lyrics, this is simply beautiful.

Saalschutz - Headliner der Herzen (Fuck Art, Let's Dance! Remix)

this night's so scared we own it

Junior Boys - In the Morning

I was obsessed with Junior Boys a few months ago, ever since I'm looking for good acoustic versions, can not be found... very sad story indeed. Help me out if you can, it'd be highly appreciated!!

They'll play at Melt! Festival (Germany) this year.
First time I'm not gonna be there in like forever.. makes me feel a little blue

Zoo Kid - broke
I was basically praying for a better version of this song, my friend found it, enjoy x
for more Zoo Kid visit his bandcamp page.

cats, dogs & Fête de la Musique

COMA - raindrops

once a year there's a free, open-air music festival, called  Fête de la Musique, all over Geneva. People here love it, they go crazy about it weeks before it even gets announced. It starts today..
too bad the pouring rain won't stop.

"Welcome to the Vetiverse."

“Tight Knit is a beautiful, lazy album of befogged west coast dreams… Cabic’s amiable, balmy voice sings of freedom and escape… The perfect getaway” - MOJO

“A delicately rendered, personal vision of West Coast rock… Lovingly shaped melodies gently evoke a rich range of moods and feeling… Classy.” - Mirror

wonder why

There isn't really much to find about Vetiver on the internet, all I really know is that they're from the States, SF, and on tour right now, yaayy on that one!

I dislike much of their old stuff on the albums "Vetiver", "Find me Gone" and "Thing of the Past", but "Tight Knit" is (take a look at the quotes above) simply beautiful.

They released their fifth album The Errant Charm yesterday, June 14th!

Light summer melodies take you on a cruise, along with a steady beat and wonderful instrumentals. To me, "Wonder Why" could be used for the next Apple or Nikon commercial. There's something so free and modest about this song, rarely to be found these days of aspiring electronic music.

Angus and Julia Stone - Hold On

Yeah, I'm a fan of Angus and Julia Stone. More of Angus to be honest, because I believe he's a beautiful man with an even more beautiful voice. He should sing more parts in their songs (or at least show off his face from time to time). I also missed him in this one at first, but it really is perfectly fine the way it turned out.

The video reminds me of Lykke Li's newest: "I follow rivers"
www.youtube.com/watch?v=vZYbEL06lEU
but the Stone's have been there first ;)

Angus and Julia Stone - Big Jet Plane

I used to listen to "Big Jet Plane" 24/7.
Especially the beginning really got to me ...of course, it's Angus.

Twenty Two feat. Theo Martins - Wakey, Wakey!

I'm in a creative/Sunday-ish mood, did I mention my week only starts tomorrow?
me gusta!

max. what?

MAXIMUM BALLOON!!

Groove me (feat. Theophilus London)

I posted about London's music before, so today, when I saw a collaboration of Maximum Balloon and TL, I sure had to pass it on. In case you haven't heard of Maximum Ballon yet:

We're talking about the guitarist of TV on the Radio, Dave Sitek.
As a producer he's been now working with Liars, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Holly Miranda. Maximum Balloon is his newest project (and I dare to think it's his most successful one as well).

if you liked this song, check out the Jneiro Jarel’s remix!

BUT there also is "Tiger" which was the first track I ever heard of Dave Sitek. It's a fun song and there's one even more fun video to it: Daisy Lowe for UK esquire magazine

Tiger (feat. Aku)

i love CARIBOU, i truly do

Odessa

Jamelia

Sun

i must admit i had completely forgotten about CARIBOU.

now this is somehow really awkward.. but i saw caribou about a year ago at l'Usine, Geneva and it blew my mind. that was a great night, i was floating.
i found C. a few weeks before i read about the concert and i was stoked.
so i grabbed a friend to accompany me and she was so very happy i made her go!

looking forward to hear news from Caribou, very soon, maybe? please? x

definitely a good start to the day!

Zoo Kid - Out Getting Ribs

I just wanted to say
Girl, don't you worry 'bout a thing
Girl
Baby, please

Chiddy Bang - Dancing with the DJ

such freedom

Theophilus London - Humdrum Town

Theophilus London, he's my muse right now. but i'm posting this only for the sex

Wet Fingers - Turn me on
electro/club/house

sounds like: catwalk / dancing in the crowd like there's no tomorrow, nobody else

DIESEL - Fuel for life

current favorite commercial.
i could have given you the whole song but you would've missed out on those two

Deichkind - Luftbahn

Fällt die ganze Last

Manchmal muss man einfach raus

Florence and the machine - You've got the love
another all-time favorite

Girl Talk - Triple Double

sick mashup, fun to dance to
 Massive Attack - Paradise Circus

another oldie. but hell, you guys better appreciate this. it's amazing

Chiddy Bang - Dream Chasin'

since i mentioned him in my previous post..
also really like the black and white/big city theme

J. Cole - Lights Please

CONFESSION: i'm really into rap right now, mostly chill stuff like chiddy bang etc.

Flight Facilities - Crave you Feat. Giselle

stumbled across this a few days ago, i haven't heard a song with such an ease in ages. i think the video is very sweet too, it maches the tune perfectly

Oliver Koletzki feat Fran 'Hypnotized'

i really really hope none of you have problems going without great visualization, close your eyes or something, the video really doesn't do any justice to such a masterpiece. lord they could have pulled up something rad...

(good times at MELT! '10)

the xx 'islands'

i agree if you think they're absolutely overexposed but since i have to make a mixtape for class i thought i'd feature it on here as well, enjoy!

(saw them live at MELT! Festival '10 - it was quite alright/packed)

"WU LYF is nothing, four dumb kids calling out heavy longings for a place to call home, two brothers greet two brothers and play heavy pop. I don't feel at home in this place, like your hearts drunk on kerosene and all you need is a spark. A lil' flare of Lucifer. And in blind faith they believe what they are told to believe and exploit your true mamma until her blood runs blue. The wind on the mountain laps tame, its wild years replaced by an air-conditioning unit, sleek and metallic, molded perfection. And in efficient regulation the people were conditioned and were told there's no alternative son. To tell fire is to question, to bring fuel to the fires started by kids no longer blinded by spectacle glare.
So go tell fire"
